February 27, 2014 - Deep Time, Global Change and YOU lecture series: Magnitude 9 - How We Learned that the Largest Earthquakes on Earth Happen in BC Presented by John Clague, Earth Science, Simon Fraser University Evidence discovered by Canadian and U.S. scientists over the past 30 years has shown that the largest earthquakes on Earth occur at our doorstep, off the BC coast. In this presentation, Dr. Clague describes how scientists found and interpreted the geological and biological evidence of these earthquakes. He also reviews the likely effects and impact of the next "Big One" on Vancouver, Victoria, and cities in the U.S. Pacific Northwest. www.sfu.ca/cstudies/science
Joseph Keenan: Anyone who can type can have their own wiki page, big whoop!
xyzct: Your title annoys me.
DAYBROK3: You want some doom the Fraser river goes through a bottle neck at hope. There are landslides there all the time. What do you think will happen when the big one happens? The roads gone the water backing up until it breaks through.
DAYBROK3: Latest announcement was that the earthquakes happen between 290 and 500 years but more closer to 300 so we are back to being due, not over due but close.
DAYBROK3: There are a whole lots of quack followers and Jesus freaks in these comments. So to you bunch go back to watching you snake oil salespeople. This is a university lecture the first part of the video was to catch those who are not geology students up with the rest. If you didn’t want to watch it why are you here?
Regina Redding: #Dutchsinse
Chris Canter: The largest earthquake 9.5 on recorded history was in Valdivia, Chile 1960 9.5M
Michelle Bolduc: https://www.twitch.tv/dutchsinseofficial please check his video's out on youtube & twitch
Lee Rice: I love listening to what others think about the earthquakes, but I do not want to have them try to fill me with the Billions of Year talk.
SPANISH WEST: You don't know what you are talking about. No more funds. The people need to have you cut off, you are unprofessional and I have seen what you have done to Dutchsinse...you and your ilk. Trash.
Angela Porisky: This was incredible information. I had no idea. Just moved to Vancouver from Alberta. I am most definitely more interested in learning about earthquakes now more than ever. Thank you for sharing such important information.
Terry Moore: Hello.. Alaska earthquake 1964..9.2
donna4843: just to note m son was in the Portland State Library during the 2001 eq and he said the shelves almost fell over. I was in North Plains Ore and in house it felt like everything was going in a circle. In a spot outside on the driveway no felt motion but the trees across the street were whipping back and forth. So the graph is off a bit. Great talk,we don't get a lot of Canadian info here.
Paula Cannon: You are a fake a fraud and a bully and on top of this we all know where you are getting your information from and it’s nothing to do with your own hard work you are a thief of information and a disgrace to scientific research.
Paula Cannon: Remove the world governments and military,s then we can be free happy live with nature then the governments and elite can’t use magnetic wars to change the weather and start earthquakes and kill off the growing food so people starve .
Clay John: I hope the chlorine lady gasses herself immediately.
beau-garrett:. of the Million Family: Have a tiny bug out cabin on a half acrer, on the lake, in the countryside, for sell for 40,000 in oklahoma. Hit me up!
overbuilt automotive: global change silly name just like global freezing etc
nutopiansg: When astrologers speak of the planets being aligned (something which doesn't really concern astronomers) they don't mean that the planets will actually all lie on a straight line at some instant of time. One calculation of alignments within around thirty degrees (about as close as they can get) shows that the last such alignment was in 561 BC, and the next will be in 2854. All nine planets are SOMEWHAT aligned every 500 years, and are grouped within 30 degrees every 1 to 3 alignments.
This is the same periodicity as the big quakes.
angular momentum,possibly from Jupiter?
Every 20 years or so, the giant planets Jupiter and Saturn meet. This rare conjunction has long been associated with weird events. We’ll get to all that in a moment.
The two giant worlds will draw closer the next few years. They will meet on the first day of winter in 2020. This Solstice conjunction will be the most spectacular meeting of planets in our lives. The two will be so close to each other, they’ll merge into a single ball – at least for those with marginal vision. Through a telescope, they’ll fit into the same field of view, separated by just one-sixth the width of the moon.

If you have a friend in celestial mechanics he could check for alignments at these dates. any kind of alignment would do as long as it lines up. im 70 and have been doing scientific research since i was 10 robert.
